You want to know why I jumped off the bus?

I jumped off the bus a few bus stops later and moved along the main street towards the hotel where I would meet Sam. Luckely I had looked the address up before I had set off and I had a rough image of the buildings on my mind. The streets were crowed with people, cars and motorcycles. I began enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of the city. I saw many stalls selling a variety of different goods, especially food and besides you could smell tastefullness.

The main street had many lanes and what’s more in the middle a concrete structure, several meter above, implemented a rail track — the so-called Sky train. It was introduced more than a decade ago and serves as a fast mean of transportation within the city. Just think of an underground but above the ground.

In Bangkok I had first encountered the huge gap between poor and rich.

In Bangkok I had first encountered the huge gap between poor and rich. In the one moment I past patchy cottages in dusty roads and in the next moment I stumpled upon luxury shops like MCM, Louis vuitton etc. After two hours(!) of wandering, which I of course enjoyed, I finally arrived at the hotel. I waited in the hotel lobby until Sam and his collegues came down. I felt glad to see him again after such a long time and we quickly moved on to his car. We drove to the city centre and he showed me some points of interest while we were chatting around. We got stuck in a traffic jam and after an hour we made it

Delicious Padtai at Tipsamai

to the restaurant. His friend were already queuing in front of it. Seemingly the place was quite popular. It was called Tipsamai. I had such immensely delicious Thai noodles (Padtai) with prawn that I ate a second plate! We then moved to a desert shop where we had to queue again. We bought some sweet drinks and roasted toast covert with a kind of jam — again — delicous.

I was already late, however, Sam took me around the old town and showed me places and sights I could visit the following day. Then he organised me a taxi and we saw us off.

Me, Sam and his collegues, enjoying fantastic Thai cuisine
